Players of all levels are invited to hone their skills at the onsite Val de Vie Polo Academy where opportunities to swing a mallet are frequent.

Lessons and instructional chukkas are available during the week from October to the end of April, with practices and matches on weekends.

Polo lessons are structured to the level of the student, from introductory lessons for the novice to intensive advanced level sessions in which experienced players can focus on fine tuning specific aspects of their game.

As a professional international player, coach and pony trainer, Rixon possesses a wealth of tried and tested methods to help students improve every aspect of their game from their polo swing to their horsemanship.

Polo technical equipment, clothing, and accessories can be purchased onsite at the La Martina boutique in the Polo Pavilion.

The estate boasts state-of-the-art stabling and an impressive equestrian facility with a fiber footing show jumping and dressage arena that comes fully equipped with jumping furniture.

Val de Vie's enchanting natural beauty can be savoured from the many miles of hiking, running and cycling trails that traverse the estate.

Prime fishing spots are dotted along the banks of the Berg River, where zebra and springbok graze against a magnificent mountain backdrop.

Val de Vie has a rich history of winemaking dating back to the 1600s and is currently home to the L’Huguenot Vinoteque where the Val de Vie and Polo Club wines are produced. Tastings can be arranged by appointment.
